2011 Dodge Challenger 392 Hemi: SRT8 and Inaugural Edition

The 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 was given a big boost in horsepower and torque with its new 392-cubic inch Hemi V8, packing 470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque ? 90 lb.-ft. more torque at 2,900 rpm compared with the previous 6.1-liter V-8 engine.

The Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 also brings world-class ride and handling with high performance braking and the latest technology that delivers improved fuel efficiency. New, highly damped shocks have a firm ride that maintains the feel for everyday commuting, while re-calibrated suspension geometry improves Challenger?s balance, corning ability and steering responsiveness. Quicker steering ratios and new negative camber settings all around dramatically improve Challengers appetite for cornering. The performance SRT-tuned, fully hydraulic steering system also has been improved with a new, heavy-duty pump and revised gearing to give drivers more direct feel and on-center response.

The result: the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 is now more nimble and playfully "tossable" while still capable of an incredible .93g of lateral acceleration on the skid pad ? the most of any production Challenger.

To kick off 2011-model year production, Dodge will build 1,492 Inaugural Edition models of the Challenger SRT8 392, all with unique customization for those first 1,492 owners. Two colors and new full-body stripe combinations include Deep Water Blue with standard Stone White stripes or Bright White Clear Coat with standard Viper Blue stripes. All Inaugural Edition models will ride on 20-inch SRT-exclusive wheels with a polished face and satin black painted pockets. Unique "392 HEMI" badges flank both fenders touting the historically significant V-8 engine. Mopar quad exhaust tips deliver the performance exhaust note while adding a serious muscle car styling cue. A larger front splitter and integrated front fender spats give this Challenger SRT8 392 better overall high-speed aerodynamics and balance. A newly modified front fascia chin spoiler improves aerodynamics and is accent painted for a more aggressive look. The rear decklid spoiler also is completed in matching body color.

The race-inspired interior of the Challenger SRT8 392 Inaugural Edition features standard Smooth Pearl White leather-trimmed seats and dual blue stripes accented by unique blue stitching. Each of the front seats features an embroidered "392" just below the headrest. An exclusive, serialized "Inaugural Edition 392 HEMI" dash plaque, showing the sequential build number from 1 to 1,492, rounds out the exclusive interior content. The special Challengers will be offered in two color packages: white with dual, full-length blue body stripes or blue with white stripes. Other exterior special features include: 392 HEMI fender badge, Mopar decal, body color accent grille, quad exhaust tips and forged SRT aluminum wheels with painted pockets. 2011 Dodge Journey Crosses Over: A Gorgeous New Spirit and a Driver?s Soul

Auburn Hills, Mich. , Oct 20, 2010  -  It?s not over yet. Dodge continues to unleash new products to the market, today introducing the new 2011 Dodge Journey, its mid-size crossover with ?right sized? proportions, five- or seven-passenger seating, innovative storage solutions, abundant safety and security features, all-wheel drive capability and models packaged for a variety of lifestyles.

For 2011, Dodge takes what was good and makes it better. The Dodge Journey receives a major overhaul with a completely redesigned and retuned suspension, a new V-6 engine and a gorgeous new interior. And that?s not
all. Journey also features the latest and greatest in vehicle connectivity and customization with the Chrysler Group?s new PowerNet electrical architecture. Owners will feel like they have the world at their fingertips with the Journey?s available touch-screen command center, Uconnect Touch.

From navigation to dual-zone climate controls to the ability to check fuel prices, the all-new Uconnect Touch media center makes life in the new 2011 Dodge Journey an excellent adventure for the driver and passengers. Four Uconnect Touch models are available, all featuring easy-to-use controls and
class-leading technology. With its touch-screen display and user-friendly touch-key categories, connecting and controlling personal devices is simple, intuitive and customizable.

The 2011 Dodge Journey is nimble, composed and handles well in all driving and road conditions. Chrysler Group engineers improved routine ride handling by re-engineering the suspension geometry, adding new, improved premium tires and redesigning the steering for a more precise and coordinated response. Overall, customers will be treated to an energetic, fun-to-drive experience behind the wheel.

In addition, at 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, the 2011 Dodge Journey equipped with the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine delivers a 20 percent boost in power compared with the V-6 engine it replaces. It?s mated to the smooth-shifting six-speed transmission.

Drivers also will be treated to a smooth, quiet ride. Engineers reduced noise, vibration and harshness by installing new, premium sound-deadening treatments and insulation throughout the vehicle.

But perhaps the most rewarding surprise is Journey?s new interior. Customers will step into world-class levels of craftsmanship and comfort. A beautifully crafted one-piece instrument panel sets the tone. A new, larger cluster with standard electronic vehicle information center (EVIC) is positioned in the center of the new gauges. It?s a full-color display backlit in Dodge red lights, giving it a soft glow unlike any in the segment. New, integrated center stack bezels are less angular and more sculpted, and designers softened the radius to make more room for the driver?s knees. The heating and cooling outlets are also redesigned to make them better looking and better functioning.

The center console gets a lot of extra cushion on the tilt-and-slide armrest. Lift the lid, and there?s a larger center storage bin with a 12-volt outlet and USB port where owners can hook up their MP3/iPod
charging connections and hide them away.

The design team also worked to make the Journey?s interior more comfortable. They moved the shifter and cupholders, making it easier for drivers and passengers to get their coffee and soda without having to lean
over and under the dash. There?s also a larger front storage bin with side nets. The new multi-functioning three-spoke Dodge brand steering wheel with integrated controls and a wider, longer, soft-touch armrest transform the driver?s seat into a cockpit-like experience. Comfortable new seats might just make drivers want to take the long way home to get a little extra seat time. The Dodge Journey offers six new interior color and trims to complete the makeover.

On the outside, Journey maintains its sculpted, clean, aggressive lines, and adds a new front fascia that sports the signature Dodge Brand ?split crosshair? honeycomb grille. The fog lamp bezels are bigger and bolder, and Journey models with the Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 get a new, unique more aggressive lower fascia with the honeycomb texture in the grille (late availability). New 19-inch wheels, a new, less angular rear fascia and ?ring of fire? LED taillamps wrap it up from front to back.

Journey also is loaded with an abundance of safety and security features, including: standard advanced multi-stage front passenger air bags, active head restraints, electronic stability control (ESC) with all-speed traction control, electronic roll mitigation and brake assist, new driver-side knee blocker air bag, supplemental side-curtain air bags covering all three rows, supplemental front-seat-mounted side air bags, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, LATCH child seat anchor system and trailer sway control.

The Dodge Journey is built in at Chrysler Group LLC?s Toluca Assembly Plant in Toluca, Mexico. It will arrive in U.S. dealerships in fourth quarter of 2010.

Txt U L8r Keeps Hands On Wheels

Car and Driver launched a new mobile application for handheld devices, Txt U L8r, to address the dangers of texting while driving.

The free app is sponsored by the Chrysler brand and was developed by Newark, N.J.based iSpeech. According to WWJAM radio, Txt U L8r automatically responds to incoming text messages to let the sender know that the driver is unavailable all without the driver taking their hands off the wheel.

At the same time, the received message is read aloud to the driver, ensuring he or she doesn't miss an urgent message, Autotalk.com reported. The website said a paid upgrade to the app will allow the driver to use voice commands to send a reply message while keeping his or her hands on the wheel.

The development of Txt U L8r was prompted by a Car and Driver Texting While Driving Study that showed driver reaction times while texting were much worse compared to drunk driver reaction times.

Interested? Then search ?Txt U L8r? in the Android Market or Blackberry Appworld to find and download the free app.

With its sinister "ready to attack the road" face, the all-new Dodge Charger puts the world?s best E-segment sedan competitors between its new "split crosshair" signature grille. Its sculpted all-new body is a conscious nod to its deep heritage and muscle-car roots. The Charger's profile is also a modern affair, a result of countless hours in the wind tunnel, from its lower hood line, faster windshield and radically raked back headlights to its tighter wheel openings, lower sill and race-car-like flat underbody, the Charger effortlessly cuts thought the air with its attitude intact. The aluminum hood features dual "scallops" that bring a sculptured, performance look to the front end, while large body-side scallops deliver a striking undulating A-line across the doors. Running front to rear is the iconic horizontal "coke bottle" or "double-diamond" body-side styling that creates a tapering silhouette accented with muscular front and rear fenders and gives the Dodge Charger one of the most distinct profiles on the road.

Defining the fastback?s wide stance is an all-new signature taillamp design that incorporates 164 illuminating LEDs to form its signature "racetrack" graphic and gives the new Charger its unmistakable character from blocks away.

The 2011 Dodge Charger's interior cockpit is meant to be an enthusiast office. The all new design feature premium materials throughout. Transmitting the performance chassis' world-class feel of the road, the all-new Charger features a new thick-rimmed three-spoke Dodge steering wheel for enhanced performance feel and grip. Crafted in world-class materials, Charger's passengers are surrounded with comfort, craftsmanship and style, thanks to premium soft-touch materials and four available distinct interior color combinations. From segment-leading Garmin® navigation, to dual-zone climate controls and the ability to check fuel prices with the integration of available SIRIUS Travel Link, Uconnect Touch delivers an excellent experience for Charger?s driver and passengers.

Maximizing its unibody's world-class structural stiffness, Dodge Charger engineers were able to tune the cabin for sound quality (rather than sound level) by isolating powertrain, road and wind noise. In addition, Charger's unibody packages material and structural design improvements, including dual-pane acoustic windshield and front-door side glass, body-cavity silencing foam, under-flush roll-framed doors with triple seals and acoustic wheel-well liners to absorb road noise and quiet the cabin. Combined, these design improvements place the all-new Dodge Charger's interior sound quality among the best in the E-segment.

As the Dodge brand's flagship, the chassis of the all-new 2011 Charger is designed, engineered and fine-tuned to deliver a level of quality, capability and refinement that rivals the very best European, Asian and North American E-segment sedans. With its new second-generation E-segment rear-wheel drive (RWD) architecture, Dodge Charger features world-class suspension-tunings with re-designed geometry making for a nimble, balanced chassis that will build the Charger's legend as one of the best driving sedans in the world.
Engineered to perform against the best E-segment sport sedans, the all-new 2011 Dodge Charger SE and Charger Rallye feature the new 3.6-liter Pentastar engine for world-class levels of power, refinement, technology and fuel efficiency. For maximum thrills, efficiency and best-in-class power, the new Dodge Charger R/T lineup features the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI? V-8 engine with four-cylinder mode FuelSaver Technology.

The all-new 2011 Dodge Charger R/T with all-wheel-drive (AWD) features a re-thought stance and 19-inch wheels to make it much more appealing than ever before. The AWD preserves the Charger's character and deepens its performance envelope in the most treacherous conditions. The Charger AWD features a segment-exclusive active transfer case and front-axle disconnect system to improve fuel economy by up to 5 percent. No other major automotive manufacturer offers the combination of these two independent technologies. Dodge Charger's innovative AWD system seamlessly transitions between RWD and AWD with no driver intervention. When all-wheel drive is not required, the system automatically disconnects the front axle to maximize fuel economy while still providing the outstanding performance and handling inherent in rear-wheel drive vehicles.

The all-new 2011 Dodge Charger features more than 65 safety and security features, including standard Keyless Enter-N-Go and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with segment-exclusive Ready-alert Braking and Rainy Day Brake Support safety features to improve overall vehicle handling and performance both on and off the track. Safety and security features available for the first time on the Dodge Charger include adaptive-cruise control (ACC) with forward-collision warning (FCW), blind-spot monitoring (BSM) with rear cross path (RCP) detection and ParkView? rear back-up camera with grid lines, all designed to provide the driver with added confidence while behind the wheel.

Upcoming 2011 Ram Laramie Longhorn Edition

The Ram Laramie Longhorn, launched on September 23, 2010, is the most well-appointed Dodge  Ram, designed "for the owner who needs a truck for work or play, but won't settle for anything but the finest quality and refinement." The new luxury pickup is intended to be a permanent addition to the lineup.

"We took Ram Laramie Longhorn's design cues from traditionally handcrafted, time-tested wares, such as the antique pocket watch, a fine pair of hand-tooled leather cowboy boots, a collector's-grade shotgun or a horseman's saddle," said Ryan Nagode, Design Program Lead. "The metal work and leather work are second to none."

Badging is prominent, with a chrome metal Laramie Longhorn edition badge with painted accents mounted to the tailgate, and model-specific (1500, 2500 or 3500) Laramie Longhorn edition badges adorn the doors. Stylist Ryan Nagode noted that the truck features Liquid Chrome gauges with a band that has a multi-piece coined edge, and softly lit filigree.

The luxury Ram is available in five color choices, including the model-exclusive Sagebrush with White Gold. Matching White Gold lower-body two-tone, wheel flares, painted front and rear bumpers and Mopar running boards complement a bright chrome grille and painted tow hooks. Other colors include Bright White, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl, Rugged Brown Pearl or Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl. All Laramie Longhorn edition trucks are matched with the special White Gold accent color.

The Ram 1500
Laramie Longhorn has 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels, while 2500 and 3500 single-rear-wheel models roll on polished aluminum wheels. Ram 3500 duallies get polished aluminum wheels with Laramie Longhorn edition-badged center caps.

A full leather interior, engraved details, and burled walnut woodgrain surfaces set the truck apart, whether it is ordered in dark gray and russet, or brown and beige. The seats are 100% covered in leather with special stitching. Map pockets and door handles are LED-lit.

Seat fronts for both themes include a stitched-on leather Laramie Longhorn badge, either branded (russet) or laser-etched (bark brown).

Contrasting leather welts, also called piping, provide seat-edge emphasis. Additional accents are created along either side the welts by tan or dark slate-colored deck-seam stitching.

Ram Laramie Longhorn edition features unique leather front seatbacks distinguished by flap-closure pockets whose details authentically evoke saddlebags. Each pocket is secured with silver steer-logoed, tooled-metal buckle with a magnetic clasp.

Laramie Longhorn's exclusive instrument cluster takes on the appearance of hand-wrought jewelry with six liquid chrome gauge rings set against a painted taupe silver background and a tooled-metal Laramie Longhorn edition badge set inside the left-hand ring.

The two main gauge rings feature a hand-crafted look with a coined inner edge and filigrees engraved on the top surface. Set inside those rings, the lower edges of the gauge cluster dials are detailed with small filigrees that are softly backlit at night.

The Ram Laramie Longhorn edition's dash features a center stack trimmed in burled walnut wood graining. The wood grain is stained in one of two complementary shades, matched to either the russet or bark brown interior theme. Chrysler designers borrowed from high-end furniture-grade and gun stock designs in their choice of wood grain.

Painted taupe silver side bezels, resembling polished pewter, are special to the Laramie Longhorn, while chrome vent rings complete the center stack's details.

On the passenger side, the upper glove box door - there are two - becomes a focal point with the addition of a full-length, filigree-engraved aluminum band and Laramie Longhorn edition badge.

Beneath the instrument panel is soft, new footwell lighting, providing both a functional and aesthetic interior enhancement.

The Ram Laramie Longhorn's cavernous double-stacked center console is topped with a soft, double French-stitched full-leather lid featuring either a branded (russet) or laser-etched (bark brown) Laramie Longhorn logo.

The pewter-colored highlights from the center stack flow rearward, continuing along the outer edges of the center console. A chrome ring outlines the console's center bin and cupholders.

Ram Laramie Longhorn's steering wheel and shifters - console mounted on 1500, column mounted on 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty models - feature premium leather. Matching X-stitch detailing sets off both the steering wheel and shifter.

The leather console shifter on 1500 models is entirely new, accentuated by taupe silver side panels and a bright chrome base. The leather column shifter on Heavy Duty models is completed by a chrome end cap.

Armrest uppers are wrapped in premium leather and accented with the same dual French stitch used on the center console lid and instrument panel. Burled walnut-grained panels trimmed by chrome tracers add to all four doors' visual appeal.

Ram Laramie Longhorn editions receive remote lighting at the inside door handles and a full-length light that illuminates the truck's multi-function lower map pockets, front and rear.

Laramie Longhorn's luxurious carpet is protected by specially designed all-weather rubber mats with polished metal Ram Laramie Longhorn edition Badge and removable carpet inserts. The mats themselves incorporate the filigree designs from the dash and seats, while the snap-in inserts are a high-end, color-flecked Berber-style weave that luxuriously blends the two interior colors.

Along the doorsills new brushed-silver Ram-branded sill plates resist scuffs and add visual appeal.

Laramie Longhorn comes equipped with all of the standard equipment found on the top-level Ram Laramie and adds a navigational radio, remote start, back-up camera, front ventilated seats and rear heated seats. Power adjustable pedals with memory and front heated seats with 10-way driver's adjustment - standard on Ram 1500 Laramie models - are also added to Ram Heavy Duty Laramie Longhorn editions.

"Ram Truck owners and dealers tell us they love everything about the new Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500," added Diaz. "With so many great features, we weren't surprised to see our most well-equipped model - Ram Laramie - making up 25 percent of our sales. There's a healthy market for luxury pickup trucks and Ram Laramie Longhorn edition hits the mark."

Ram Laramie Longhorn will be available in 1500 (half-ton), 2500 HD (3/4 ton) and 3500 HD single and dual rear wheel (1 ton), Crew Cab
and Mega Cab; four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive; and short- and long-wheelbase models.

Ram Laramie Longhorn models will go on sale first quarter 2011. Prices will be announced closer to launch. Fred Diaz expects the new model to account for 6% - 10% of pickup sales, with more volume in the heavy duty models.

Below are a series of sample photos of the beautiful upcoming 4x4.

2011 Dodge Durango Unveiled

Chrysler has just pulled back the curtain on the 2011 Dodge Durango, and the newest iteration of the Auburn Hills brawler looks to have all of the bones it needs to be competitive in one of the industry's most crowded segments, Autoblog.com said today. For next year, the vehicle will ride on a new unibody platform wrapped in freshly-minted sheet metal, the website said. More importantly for those looking to ferry their brood about town, it will also boast a full three rows of seating, the report said. Under the hood, buyers can look forward to picking between the company's new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or a 5.7-liter V8 with 6,200- and 7,800-pounds of towing capacity, respectively, the report said. All-wheel drive is available with both power plants, it said. The interior was worked over by the same gurus responsible for the superb, hide-lined cabins in the Dodge Ram and Jeep® Grand Cherokee, and judging by the one teaser photo the company released this morning, it looks like a fine place to whittle away the miles, the website said. There look to be a host of smaller, but equally important changes onboard the Durango as well, the report said. "If you were waiting to see what the face of the new Chrysler would look like, search no more: It's here," the report said. Look for the Durango to hit dealer lots by late this year.

Reviewers like Dodge Caliber upgrades

The Dodge Caliber was a "pioneering example" of the small-tall car in the economy segment and offers the "best blend of horsepower and fuel economy," ScrippsNews reviewer Richard Williamson wrote. "Caliber really crossed categories in ways that other entry-level cars did not," Williamson said. The article said the Caliber stands-out in styling, versatility and its combination of power and fuel economy. New Orleans Times Picayune reviewer James Gaffney said the budget-minded Caliber has many features to appeal to the "midcareer demographic." Gaffney said upgraded fabric and overall front-seat comfort makes the Caliber a good choice for long-distance drives.

The review cites additional creature comforts such as "cruise control,
remote keyless entry, automatic door locks, airbags up the wazoo,
ABS, tire pressure monitoring, power windows, illuminated cup
holders, tilt steering column, rear 60/40 split reclining seats, 17-inch
aluminum wheels, power heated mirrors and halogen headlamps."

Ram Truck Brand Announces New "Outdoorsman" Model

- New Ram Outdoorsman designed for hunters, fishermen, campers, and boaters.

- Features standard trailer-towing upgrades, interior and exterior lighting enhancements, all-terrain tires, and rugged exterior appearance.

- Mopar adds "Ram-Box Holster" fishing rod and gun rack accessory for Ram-Box equipped Ram trucks.

The Ram truck brand today announced a new feature package designed for North American outdoor enthusiasts: Ram Outdoorsman.

Ram Outdoorsman takes all of the features most useful to hunters, fishermen, campers and boaters, and packages them into one model. Outdoorsman combines convenience, off-road capability and trailer towing hardware in one package with a name that will resonate among it's intended users.

"We asked Ram Truck customers -- boaters, campers, fishing enthusiasts and hunters -- what features would they like to see in a truck," said Fred Diaz, President and CEO -- Ram Truck brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "They answered 'more capability, more room for my gear and ready to hit the trail. And make it affordable.'"

Ram Heavy Duty owner demographics illustrate a passion for the outdoors: 47% hunt, 57% fresh water fish, 33% saltwater fish, 36% own power boats and 37% tow camping trailers. Overall, 62% of full-size truck owners hunt, fish, or camp.

Ram Truck engineers -- many of whom count hunting, fishing, boating and camping among their hobbies -- brought together features that they felt would best meet the practical needs of owners who will frequently use their Ram truck for towing or long, remote trips.

Standard trailer towing upgrades, interior and exterior convenience lighting enhancements, all-terrain tires and under body protection are combined with a rugged exterior appearance to highlight the new " "Ram Outdoorsman".

Ram Truck officials unveiled the rugged new model at Porfessional Outdoor Media Association's (POMA) fifth annual national business conference.

Ram Outdoorsman is available in 1500 (half-ton), 2500 HD (3/4 ton), and 3500 HD single rear wheel (1 ton), Regular Cab, Quad Cab, Crew Cab and Mega Cab, 4WD an 2WD; and short/long wheel base models.

Outdoorsman will replace the TRX-4 trim level in the 2011 Ram Truck line-up. It will join the other Ram trim levels which includes; ST, SLT, Big Horn / Lone Star, Sport, (1500 only) Laramie and Power Wagon (2500 only).

The Best Truck Gets Even Better

Following a long-term test, Automoble Magazine declared the Ram 1500 is the best full-size truck a shopper can buy. A remarkable ride and an upscale, spacious interior make the Ram as comfortable as any people mover, and at the same time it delivers uncompromising pickup-truck capability for heavy lifting on the weekends, Automobile said after the 12-month evaluation. "Not only is it the best full-size truck you can buy, but it steps up expectations for the next generation of pickups." The magazine was impressed with the Hemi V-8 acceleration and "marveled" at how often it kicked into fuel-saving four-cylinder mode. Automobile also noted that the ride is "significantly more controlled and comfortable than anything the competition offers." The Ram brand also made news this week with the announcement of the new Outdoorsmen package.
Fox News noted that Ram is "taking direct aim at hunters" with the unique features. A USA Today blog said the most unique feature is the Mopar® RamBox Holster, which includes inserts in the lockable RamBox for holding weapons. The specially equipped Ram Outdoorsmen model will hit dealerships later this fall, just in time for hunting season, the Truck Trend website reported.

Sales, jobs, optimism on the rise in Detroit

A recent headline from The New York Times said that sales, profits and jobs are increasing in Detroit, along with optimism about the domestic auto industry's recovery. Although the comeback is not complete, ?the improving mood here reflects real changes in how Detroit is doing business - and a growing sense that the changes are turning the Big Three around, according to industry executives and analysts tracking the recovery, The New York Times reported. The article also says a ?new breed of top management? is determined to keep the auto-makers lean, agile and focused on building better cars. Chrysler Group CEO Sergio Marchionne said, ?What we've come out of this with are much more rational, more grounded players making moves for the long term, according to the story. Chrysler Group is again recruiting on college campuses and bringing in entry-level engineers and managers such as James Kim, a recent University of Michigan graduate, the story said. I saw an opportunity to get into a company that was re-building itself from the ground up, said Mr. Kim, according to the story. It's almost like going to a start-up business.

Dodge Grand Caravan Is Still the Best

If given a choice between a Chevrolet Corvette or a Dodge Grand Caravan for his next road trip, Oakland Press auto re-viewer Ed Noble names the Dodge minivan as the winner.

"Chrysler started out with the best van twenty-five years ago, and they have never lost my top ranking," Noble wrote.

The reviewer said the Grand Caravan and it's Chrysler sibling are the "best (minivans) of any make and any price range" and that "comfort and utility" are the most important reasons to own a minivan.

Road trips in the Grand Caravan are a "joy in itself" and the "ride quality is as good as or better than an ultra luxury sedan," according to the article.

Noble cites the dual DVD screens, iPod connections and the factory navigation system as useful features, noting that the 30 gigabyte hard drive can hold "nearly every song I have ever heard."

What about storage room?

"This van has more cubby holes and places to fill with travel junk than any other van known," Noble said.

New Minivan Packages Arrive To Goss Dodge Chrysler.

Drivers Stay Protected And Connected With Latest Minivan Innovations.

The automaker that invented the modern minivan more than twenty-six years ago continues to roll-out fresh innovations to help keep today's drivers and passengers protected and connected.

Available at Goss Dodge Chrysler in South Burlington, the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan are the only minivans on the market with accident-avoidance safety features such as Rear Cross Path and Blind-Spot Monitoring to warn drivers of oncoming vehicles that they might not see.

For the passengers, services from FLO TV, SIRIUS XM Radio and Uconnect entertain with live TV, web surfing and online gaming while on the go.

"Chrysler Group continues to up the ante for the minivan segment by anticipating the needs of our customers and their families. Safety and entertainment are especially important for minivan buyers," said Brian Hoar, General Manager of Goss Dodge Chrysler. "With all of the available technology and entertainment features, the driver is likely to hear, 'can you please drive around the block again so I can finish my show?' rather than 'are we there yet?"

Chrysler Town & Country

Just in time for the spring "Minivan Event" at Chrysler Dealerships, the new Chrysler Town & Country lineup - the premiere minivan to transport people and their belongings - just got better with 12 percent more standard horsepower and torque on the new 2010 Chrysler Town & Country LX model, while the new 2010 Chrysler Town & Country Touring "Plus" model is well equipped with an array of luxury appointments, entertainment features and safety equipment.

Dodge Grand Caravan

The Dodge Grand Caravan - the original family room on wheels with more than 26 years of unsurpassed leadership - offers customers two new performance-focused and tech-savvy minivan models, packaged with even more features that are designed to add value and meet the different lifestyle needs of every family. The 2010 Dodge grand Caravan Hero is geared for young families seeking convenience, utility and affordability. With more power and an enhanced set of technology features, the Dodge Grand Caravan Crew model targets customers seeking the next-level performance, technology, style and value.

Following are just a few of the innovative features available that help keep customers connected and protected in the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan.

Blind-Spot Monitoring

Dual ultra-wideband radar sensors aid the driver when changing lanes or when being passed by or passing unseen vehicles. The system notifies the driver via illuminated icons on the side-view mirror and/or with a driver-selected audible chime.

Rear Cross Path (RCP)

In parking lot situations, RCP drivers backing out of parking spaces of traffic moving toward their vehicle. The driver is notified of vehicle(s) crossing behind the vehicle via an illuminated side view mirror icon and with an audible chime.

Parkview Rear Back-up Camera

Using a wide-angle view of the area immediately behind the vehicle, Parkview gives the driver greater peace of mind before backing up. It also aids in lining up a trailer to the vehicle's trailer hitch, when so equipped. The images automatically displays on the navigation screen when the transmission is shifted into reverse.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC enhances driver control and helps maintain directional stability under all conditions. It provides the greatest benefit in critical driving situations such as turns, and is especially valuable when driving on mixed-surface conditions such as snow, ice or gravel. If there's a discernible difference between what the driver asks through the steering wheel and the vehicle's path, ESC applies selective braking and throttle input in order to guide the vehicle back onto the driver's intended path.

SmartBeam Headlamps

Intelligent headlamp system adjusts to ambient light and oncoming traffic in order to deliver maximum lighting.

Smart Brake

Chrysler Group began implementing the Smart Brake in 2003. When a disagreement exists between the throttle and brake, the brake signal causes the engine controller to reduce engine power, allowing the operator to stop the car.

Uconnect Media Center

The innovative Uconnect Media Center offers touch screen and voice command for convenient control of the multiple media sources and outputs. Owners can create a personalized in-vehicle media experience with iPod Control, auxiliary jack for MP3 player input, FLO TV, SIRIUS XM Radio and SIRIUS Baclseat TV. The Media Center also includes a 30-gigabyte hard drive where music, photos and voice messages can be stored via a USB port interface. In addition to navigation software and mapping, the hard drive holds approximately 2,400 songs - more than 150 hours of music. Finally, for the driver who needs efficiency, a voice-memo recorder feature allows convenient reminders up to 3 minutes long.

Uconnect Phone

In-vehicle, voice-activated communication system allows drivers to talk on their Bluetooth compatible phones while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. The built-in phone book sync feature automatically downloads as many as 1,000 phone book entries from supported phones, which can then be selected by simply saying their name.

Voice Command

Chrysler Group LLC's hands-free voice recognition system helps drivers keep their eyes on the road. Many features are operable using voice command, including navigation destinations. Voice Command is standard with Uconnect Phone.

FLO TV

Chrysler Group LLC is the first automaker in the United States to offer live mobile TV to consumers with the capacity for as many as 20 channels through FLO TV Auto Entertainment. The system offers something for everyone: college and professional sports, breaking news, children's shows, primetime sitcoms, reality TV, and daytime dramas, including CBS Mobile, CNBC, Comedy Central, Fox News, MSNBC, MTV, NBC 2Go, Nickelodeon and more. FLO TV is available on Chrysler, Dodge and Ram vehicles as a Mopar option.

SIRIUS Backseat TV

SIRIUS Backseat TV offers Chrysler and Dodge customers this pioneering service that delivers programming from the biggest names in family TV: Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, and Cartoon Network Mobile to the backseat 24/7. For added flexibility, rear-seat passengers may enjoy SIRIUS Backseat TV while front-seat occupants listen to SIRIUS XM Radio. The system may be operated from the rear-seat entertainment unit or the radio head unit. In addition, when the vehicle is in park, programming may be displayed on the Uconnect Media Center for front-seat viewing.

Uconnect Web

Uconnect Web is a Mopar option that provides high-speed data transfer and flexibility, combining Wi-Fi and 3G cellular connectivity for a new level of wireless technology. The system transforms the vehicle into a "hot spot" to deliver internet directly to the vehicle for instant access to websites, email, personalized music, online gaming, photo albums and more.

Uconnect Navigation

Uconnect Navigation combines the features of a Global Positioning System (GPS), point of interest, SIRIUS Traffic and voice command. Motor Trend Names All-New Ram Heavy Duty Pickup "Truck of the Year"

All-new 2010 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickups recognized by editors for setting a new benchmark in heavy-duty truck segment

All-new 2010 Ram Heavy Duty pickup beats the competition in a series of rigorous tests

Auburn Hills, Mich. , Dec 10, 2009 - The editors of Motor Trend today named the all-new 2010 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickups the magazine's "2010 Truck of the Year."

"To have our all-new 2010 Ram Heavy Duty named Truck of the Year by the editors of Motor Trend really defines how great this new Ram Heavy Duty pickup is," said Fred Diaz, President and Chief Executive Officer - Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "The Motor Trend Truck of the Year Award is like a standing ovation for the Chrysler Group designers, engineers and planners who developed this incredible Ram Heavy Duty Truck."

Motor Trend Truck of the Year contenders are evaluated using six criteria, which includes design advancement, engineering excellence, intended function, efficiency, safety and value. To be eligible, a vehicle must have been substantially changed from the previous model.

"The 2010 Ram Heavy Duty absolutely nailed the award in terms of our criteria, from the attractive exterior styling, to the plush and quiet cabins, to the tough and capable powertrains, especially the impressive Cummins diesel, which meets 50-state emissions standards without needing expensive after-treatment technology," said Angus MacKenzie, Editor-in-Chief, Motor Trend. "It delivers the capability heavy duty truck users demand, with style and refinement they perhaps did not expect."

Innovative New Features Strengthen Ram Heavy Duty's Capability and Performance

The 2010 Ram Heavy Duty brings increased capability and innovative new features to the heavy-duty segment with an uncompromising attitude that remains the standard for all full-size heavy-duty pickups.

For 2010, the all-new Ram Heavy Duty is available in five distinct trim models - ST, SLT, TRX, Power Wagon and Laramie. Each has a unique appearance and offers various equipment options.

Ram Heavy Duty delivers the performance and amenities customers demand. The 2010 Ram Heavy Duty pickups feature a hydro-formed, fully boxed frame with advanced torsional rigidity and stiffness. A coil-spring suspension setup is used up front, while the multi-leaf spring design is maintained in the rear for heavy-duty capability. Front and rear shocks and springs are tuned for optimum ride quality and capability.

Improved suspension tuning and new C-pillar hydra mounts were added to the 2010 Ram Heavy Duty models to improve damping through the frame-bending mode frequency in order to better manage shake and after-shake response. The result is reduced shake, which means an improved ride for the customer.

The new 2010 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups offer the only standard exhaust brake in the segment (diesel-equipped models). This feature reduces brake fade, prolongs brake life and provides confidence and safety when hauling heavy loads on downhill grades. Large front (360 mm) and rear (358 mm) brakes with integrated Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) increase brake life and braking stability.

An available integrated trailer brake control provides better driver control in towing situations. Trailer brake control information is conveniently displayed in the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC), which is standard on all Ram heavy duty models equipped with a diesel engine and available on gas SLT, TRX and Laramie models.

In addition, new 2010 Ram transmissions include Electronic Range Select, which enables the driver to manually limit the highest available transmission gear, allowing manual upshifts and downshifts based on road speed and engine speed. A tow/haul mode switch enhances tow capability while towing. Tow/haul mode is available on both five-speed and six-speed automatic transmissions.

Customers in the heavy-duty segment have a range of needs, and most of them involve high levels of capability. The new 2010 Ram 2500 and 3500 are designed to deliver a total package:

Increased Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) on 2500 4x4 crew cab diesel models to 9,600 pounds from 9,000 pounds.

Increased Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) on 3500 dually models with diesel, auto transmission and 4.10 rear axle to 24,500 pounds from 24,000 pounds. With the Max Tow Package, GCWR increases to 25,400 pounds (late availability).

Increased GCWR on 3500 4x2 models to 24,000 pounds from 23,000 pounds.

Increased front Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) on several models:

To 5,500 pounds from 5,200 pounds on diesel 4x4 pickups

To 5,000 pounds from 4,700 pounds on diesel 4x2 pickups

Other towing features include improved trailer-tow mirrors with integrated turn signals, memory function and puddle lamps. The larger 7-in. x 11-in. trailer-tow mirrors offer improved visibility with larger convex glass surfaces. Mirrors flip up and out in a vertical configuration for improved visibility around wide trailers. Trailer-tow mirrors are now standard on 3500. As an added convenience, a Class IV receiver is now standard on all Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty pickups.

Ram Heavy Duty towing, payload and axle capacity have all been increased for 2010. Suspension upgrades and larger front-axle U-joints, combined with increased front GAWR, result in increased front-weight carrying capability - a must for larger snowplows.

The Ram Power Wagon also returns for the 2010 model year, equipped with electric-locking front and rear differentials, electronic disconnecting sway bar, Bilstein shocks, 32-inch BFGoodrich off-road tires, underbody skid plate protection, 4.56 axle ratio for hill climbing and a custom-built Warn® 12,000-pound winch that is accessible through the front bumper. The 2010 Dodge Ram Power Wagon features new exterior graphics and a lower two-tone paint scheme.

Ram Heavy Duty Powertrains Include 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel and 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8

Powertrain choices include the legendary 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, which produces 350 horsepower (261 kW) at 3,000 rpm and 650 lb.-ft. of torque (881 N?m) at only 1,500 rpm.

The most durable and reliable engine in its class, the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel features standard oil change intervals of 7,500 miles. It also has major-overhaul intervals of 350,000 miles, providing more than a 100,000-mile advantage over the competition.

The Cummins 6.7-liter Turbo Diesel engine uses a diesel particulate filter (DPF) to virtually eliminate particulate matter emissions and an adsorber catalyst to reduce oxides of nitrogen (NOx) by as much as 90 percent, in order to meet stringent 2010.5 diesel emissions requirements.

The 2010 Ram Heavy Duty comes standard with the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 gasoline engine, delivering 383 horsepower (286 kW) at 5,600 rpm and 400 lb.-ft. of torque (542 N?m) at 4,000 rpm. The 5.7-liter HEMI was redesigned for 2009, with several new and improved technologies including Variable-valve Timing (VVT), increased compression ratio, active intake manifold with long runners for low-end torque and short runners for high-rpm power, improved cylinder head port flow efficiency and reduced-restriction exhaust and induction systems.

New Exterior Styling; Loads of Interior Comfort and Convenience

The all-new 2010 Ram Heavy Duty pickup was born from the same truck family that brought out the award-winning Ram 1500 - Strategic Vision's Quality Award Winner.

The 2010 Ram Heavy Duty includes all-new styling, offering a tougher more capable look with improved aerodynamics and fit and finish. To accommodate cooling requirements of the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, the new 2010 Ram Heavy Duty grille opening is larger than the light-duty grille. The larger grille mates to a taller hood that incorporates louvers on each side. Access to the front winch (on Power Wagon models) and tow hooks led to the unique front-bumper design.

The new dual-rear-wheel fenders (3500 dually only) are now integrated into the box stamping and offer a smooth aerodynamic appearance.

The new 2010 Ram 2500 and 3500 Mega Cab models offer best-in-class interior room in the segment, including the largest, longest cab (143.2 cubic feet 111.1 inches long); largest interior cargo volume (72.2 cubic feet); largest cargo volume behind rear seat (7.7 cubic feet); largest flat-floor load area (16.8 square feet); largest second-row leg room (44.2 inches); largest rear-door opening (34.5 inches wide, 35.5 inches high); largest rear-door open angle 85 degrees); and first-ever reclining rear seats (22- to 37-degree seat-back angle).

Ram Heavy Duty Delivers More than 25 Safety and Security Features

The all-new Ram Heavy Duty also offers 25 active and passive safety features, including Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), advanced multi-stage air bags, BeltAlert, Brake/Park interlock, child-protection rear door locks, Constant-force Retractors (CFR), crumple zones, electronic brake-force distribution, energy-absorbing steering column, Enhanced Accident Response System (EARS), height-adjustable seat belts, HomeLink universal home security system transceiver, interior head-impact protection, knee bolsters, Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH) child seat anchor system, low-risk deployment air bag, Parksense® rear park-assist system, power-adjustable pedals, remote keyless entry, seat-belt pretensioners, Sentry Key® engine immobilizer, standard side-curtain air bags, three-point seat belts, Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) and Uconnect Phone.

All-new 2010 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Named Four Wheeler "Pickup Truck of the Year"

  • All-new 2010 Ram 2500 Power Wagon beats the competition in a series of in-depth on- and off-road tests
  • All-new Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty lineup includes five distinct trim models-ST, SLT, TRX, Power Wagon and Laramie
  • All-new 2010 Ram 2500 Power Wagon is the most off-road-ready production pickup truck with electric-locking front and rear differentials, electronic disconnecting sway bar, Bilstein shocks, 32-inch BFGoodrich off-road tires, underbody skid plate protection, 4.56 axle ratio for hill climbing and a custom-built Warn® 12,000 pound winch

Auburn Hills, Mich. , Dec 8, 2009  -  The editors of Four Wheeler have named the all-new 2010 Ram 2500 Power Wagon pickup the magazine's "2010 Pickup Truck of the Year."

"It's an honor to have Four Wheeler magazine recognize our all-new 2010 Ram 2500 Power Wagon with this significant award," said Fred Diaz, President and Chief Executive Officer - Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "This award speaks loudly about the Ram Power Wagon; it's the most capable factory-equipped off-road-ready pickup truck on the road."

This year's competitors included four new pickup trucks, the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Power Wagon, the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty with a Cummins? diesel, the Ford SVT F-150 Raptor and the Toyota Tundra. To qualify for the competition, a vehicle must have been entirely new or have substantial mechanical revisions from a previous model year.

"The new Power Wagon is quite nearly the best of all worlds," said Douglas McColloch, Editor - Four Wheeler. "Its tall stance and body-on-frame architecture don't get in the way of delivering a pleasant and relatively quiet highway ride. Its work-truck ethic is belied by its eight-lug axles and 10,000-pound tow rating. And once off the pavement, deep in the dirt, the Power Wagon can simply go places, and do things, that no other full-size truck on the planet can. Locking differentials, a disconnecting front swaybar, and a 12,000-pound winch delivered straight from the factory will do that for you. All in all, the Power Wagon is a very worthy winner of our Pickup Truck of the Year competition."

The most durable and reliable engine in its class, the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel features standard oil-change intervals of 7,500 miles.

The all-new Ram Heavy Duty also offers 25 active and passive safety features, including Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), advanced multi-stage air bags, BeltAlert, Brake/Park interlock, child-protection rear door locks, Constant-force Retractors (CFR), crumple zones, electronic brake-force distribution, energy-absorbing steering column, Enhanced Accident Response System (EARS), height-adjustable seat belts, HomeLink universal home security system transceiver, interior head-impact protection, knee bolsters, Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH) child seat anchor system, low-risk deployment air bag, Parksense® rear park-assist system, power-adjustable pedals, remote keyless entry, seat-belt pretensioners, Sentry Key® engine immobilizer, standard side-curtain air bags, three-point seat belts, Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) and Uconnect Phone.

2010 Ram Heavy Duty Pricing
The all-new 2010 Ram Heavy Duty is available with a starting U.S. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $28,165 for regular cab models, $31,415 for crew cab models and $36,865 for Mega Cab models. 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Debuts with Newest HEMI® V-8 - Inaugural Edition Model Features Exclusive Content

11/15/2010

2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Debuts with Newest HEMI® V-8 - Inaugural Edition Model Features Exclusive Content
  • Introduction of legendary 392-cubic inch HEMI® V-8 for the street, an engine with a famous name but is a decidedly high-tech, modern engineering masterpiece.
  • Potent 392 HEMI V-8 balances brawn with brains, features an active intake manifold, variable-cam timing and Fuel Saver technology (four-cylinder mode) on automatic transmission-equipped models.
  • Significant horsepower and torque gains are just part of the muscle coupe's balanced performance story as a redesigned suspension tuning delivers new driving manners.
  • 1,492 Inaugural Edition models will be built with exclusive interior and exterior appointments.

For 2011, the Dodge brand's ultimate modern American muscle coupe receives a big boost in power and performance. And the product story goes beyond the impressive horsepower and torque lurking under the hood.

The new Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 builds on its original mantra of a rear-wheel-drive coupe that promises a balanced approach between form and function, with impressive straight-line acceleration and world-class ride and handling to go along with high-performance braking and the latest technology that delivers improved fuel efficiency.

The result is the newest version of the quickest coupe in the Dodge lineup packed with modern amenities and features performance enthusiasts will love.

"We listened to our devoted, loyal Dodge customers, and this new Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 answers their call for more power off the line," said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO ? Dodge Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "We consciously tuned the 392 for a lot more torque, as that is what truly creates the thrust that sets you back in the seat and keeps you there! We can't wait to see our customers' reactions when they get behind the wheel and put their foot on the throttle ? it is so responsive and a blast to drive."

Pumping out 470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, the newest HEMI engine in the SRT product lineup provides an additional 90 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,900 rpm versus the previous 6.1-liter V-8 engine. The added torque allows for inspired standing starts and improved straight-line performance while new, performance-tuned motor mounts improve idle stability and ride control at any speed. An active intake manifold and high-lift camshaft with cam phasing provides maximum low-end torque while optimizing high-end power.

The 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 is available with either the standard five-speed automatic transmission with Auto Stick or an available Tremec TR-6060 six-speed manual transmission that was first offered on the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10®. An improved heavy-duty clutch provides easier shift engagement.

Like the original 392 HEMI, the performance on the street and at the track is sure to turn heads with numbers such as 0-60 mph in high 4-second range and quarter-mile elapsed time in the high 12s.

New for 2011 is the Fuel Saver technology in automatic transmission equipped models, which allows the engine to operate economically on four cylinders or use all eight cylinders when needed.

Under the hood, unique valve covers with painted silver ribs and the "392 HEMI" logo give the HEMI powerplant a clean, yet aggressive look.

A redesigned SRT-tuned exhaust system results in a deeper, throatier note that will surely create envious onlookers both during daily commutes and at the race track.

CHALLENGER SRT8 392 INAUGURAL EDITION OFFERS EXCLUSIVITY
To kick off production of the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, 1,492 Inaugural Edition models (1,100 for the U.S. and 392 for Canada) will be produced featuring exclusive exterior and interior content.

On the exterior, two colors and new full-body stripe combinations are available on all Inaugural Edition models: Deep Water Blue with standard Stone White stripes or Bright White Clear Coat with standard Viper Blue stripes. For the first time, the front grille features a body-color grille surround.

Unique "392 HEMI" badges flank both fenders touting the historically significant V-8 engine that remains true to its high-performance roots and powers the highest rated Challenger in terms of horsepower and torque ratings. From the rear, the Mopar® quad exhaust tips deliver the performance exhaust note while adding the styling cue of a serious muscle car.

The Challenger SRT8 392 Inaugural Edition rides on standard 20-inch SRT exclusive wheels that feature a polished face and satin black painted pockets.

The race-inspired interior of the Challenger SRT8 392 Inaugural Edition begins with standard Smooth Pearl White leather-trimmed seats and dual blue stripes accented by unique blue stitching. Each of the front seats features an embroidered "392" just below the headrest.

The center instrument panel, center stack and console bezels feature a silver metal brush finish for a clean yet high-performance look and feel. The door trim panels also feature silver metal brush grab handles inside Pearl White door bolsters with unique blue accents.

An exclusive, serialized "Inaugural Edition 392 HEMI" dash plaque, showing the sequential build number from 1 to 1,492 rounds out the exclusive interior content.

ULTIMATE MODERN AMERICAN MUSCLE COUPE
The exterior styling of the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 remains unmistakably Dodge, with proportions that evoke a bold, instantly recognizable vehicle that has a wide, stable stance on the road.

A larger front splitter and integrated front fender spats improve overall high-speed aerodynamics and overall balance. Top speed has been increased to more than 180 mph with the manual transmission (173 mph in the automatic). A newly modified front fascia chin spoiler improves aerodynamics and is accent painted for a more aggressive look. The rear deck-lid spoiler also is completed in matching body color.

NEW INTERIOR STYLING WILL DELIGHT
The precise performance handling of the Challenger SRT8 392 comes to life through a new, right-sized, three-spoke steering wheel that features a carbon fiber accented leather wrap and silver metallic painted spokes at the 3-, 6- and 9 o'clock positions.

The trapezoidal instrument panel features a four-bomb gauge cluster with chromed accent rings and unique, new for 2011 SRT graphics. Inside the cluster, the SRT-exclusive Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) with performance pages provides the driver with trip information, multimedia information from the Media Center radio, along with instant feedback on 0-60 mph time, 60-0 mph braking, G-forces, one-eighth mile and quarter-mile times.

Power lumbar-equipped front seats are standard on all Challenger SRT8 392 models. It's also much easier to get in and out of the rear seat. The driver's seat now features seatback tilt with memory and an easy to reach release handle, while the front-passenger seat adds tilt and slide with memory, which makes it even easier to use.

MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE HANDLING FOR ROAD AND TRACK
New, highly damped shocks offer a firm ride that maintains the feel for everyday commuting while being fully capable for the more challenging situations. SRT engineers recalibrated the suspension geometry to improve Challenger's balance, cornering ability and steering responsiveness. Quicker steering ratios and new negative camber settings all around dramatically improve Challenger's appetite for high-speed cornering.

The performance SRT-tuned, fully-hydraulic steering system also has been improved with a new, heavy-duty pump and revised gearing to give drivers more direct feel and on-center response.

The result: the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 is capable of .93g on the skid pad ? the most of any production Challenger and on par with some of the world's best-handling performance coupes.

392'S STORIED HISTORY
The original 392 HEMI engine was introduced in the new 1957 model year Chrysler and Imperial products. It replaced the 354 cubic-inch version of the original HEMI launched in 1951.Compared with the 354 engine, the 392 was completely revised and improved, with larger valves and ports, a beefier block and crankshaft and improved bearings. In short, the 392 HEMI, often affectionately referred to simply as the "92," was perfect for drag racing.

More than a few racers at that time immediately enhanced the performance of the newest HEMI by bolting on six or eight carburetors, installing new camshafts, etc., and went racing.

Racing legend Don "Big Daddy" Garlits ran a 392 in his infamous Swamp Rat I dragster at record speeds of faster than 180 mph on nitro with no supercharger. Garlits also used a 392 HEMI to officially break the 200-mph barrier when his Swamp Rat went 201.34 mph at Atco, N.J., in 1964.

But the 392's success went beyond the drag strip. It also set records at the Bonneville Salt Flats and in boat racing. Drag racing boats were no different than their land-based counterparts in the use of the 392. Famous HEMI engine builder Keith Black was better known on the water than on the land, until he teamed up with Tommy Greer and hired Don "The Snake" Prudhomme to dominate Top Fuel in California in the early 1960s using a 392 HEMI.

After 1958, the 392 HEMI was gone as a production engine, but it still remains a legend. Collectors are now preserving many historic 392-powered race cars and hot rods and proudly displaying them on show car circuits.

In 2007, Mopar ? Chrysler Group LLC's service, parts and customer-care brand ? helped celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original 392 by launching a modern, crate engine version of the 392 HEMI.

The Chrysler Brand: Provocative Designs Engineered for Passionate Living

Geneva, Mar 2, 2010 - Chrysler is back at the 80th Geneva International Motor Show with the Chrysler 300C design study, Chrysler 300C eco style, PT Cruiser Couture Edition, Chrysler Sebring Cabrio and versatile Chrysler minivan image vehicle - prestigious cars that showcase the best of American style - along with Lancia vehicles (for Lancia brand information visit www.lanciapress.com).

For the first time the two brands are displayed in one exhibition area designed to move away from more traditional motor show stand, favoring a symbolic representation of the future convergence of both brands.

The union of Chrysler and Lancia go together perfectly, like two puzzle pieces that are now coupled to create an all-new entity with limitless possibilities, common vision and DNA. Illustrating the best of what automotive history has produced on both sides of the ocean are the Chrysler and Lancia brands' product portfolio, encompassed by an imposing graphic design backdrop of enormous jigsaw puzzle pieces with the latest in color and fashion.

This imposing backdrop symbolizes the fusion of Chrysler and Lancia under a banner of shared values: from elegance to technological innovation, from history to the will to shine in the future. The exhibit floors continues the puzzle theme, representing the union of the two brands with two puzzle piece platforms highlighting two Chrysler 300Cs on one piece and two Lancia Deltas on the other. In this setting the visitor becomes an essential part of the composition. In fact, the images of the public are transformed into puzzle pieces to complete the puzzle of the booth, thanks to an array of mirrors and video cameras.

At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, the Chrysler brand takes the 300C sedan's groundbreaking styling to new heights with the Chrysler 300C design study. Combining the characteristics of the Chrysler brand and the Lancia brand, this unique Chrysler 300C features avant-garde interior styling through world-class materials and hand-crafted details.

The Chrysler brand has delighted customers with distinctive designs, craftsmanship, intuitive innovation and technology since the first Chrysler brand vehicles were sold in 1925.

In 2009, the Chrysler brand comprised 20.4 percent of Chrysler Group LLC sales outside North America. The Chrysler Grand Voyager was the highest sales volume vehicle for the Chrysler brand outside North America last year.

Chrysler 300C Design Study
Designed to meet the sophisticated style of an individual with refined taste, the Chrysler 300C design study delivers elegance and craftsmanship.

Taking a page from the Lancia brand's historic collaboration with high-end Italian furniture designer Poltrona Frau, the all-new Chrysler 300C design study features a highly-detailed two-tone interior color scheme contrasting between the smoothness of Ivory White and the austerity of Matte Black.

The Chrysler 300C design study's interior cabin is designed like a refined living room from its Ivory White Alcantara headliner to its soft cashmere Loro Piana floor mats. Surrounding this inviting space are the instrument and upper door panels wrapped in Matte Black leather to highlight the dark chromed accents. Adding even more contrast and detail are lower door panels wrapped in soft Ivory White leather that highlights distinctive Cartier-inspired Lake Red double-seamed stitching accents.

Interior elements of the Chrysler 300C design study include tabs and door handles wrapped with individually cut and colored strips of naturally-tanned leather. The result is a three-dimensional sculpted geometrical pattern inspired by the contrast between Ivory White and Lake Red tones. In addition, the instrument panel's center bezel and console feature the Ivory White and Lake Red geometrical patterned design.

At the center of the Chrysler 300C design study's contrasting interior theme, softly-preserved Ivory White leather seats are accented with Lake Red double-seamed stitching on the seat backs and cushions. Matte Black stitching at the seats' perimeter provides detail.

The Chrysler 300C design study hosts its unique interior within a Deep Black three-coat exterior paint. This high-gloss paint process delivers a see-through glass effect inspired by Montblanc™ fountain pens. Finishing off the unique exterior are dark-chromed fascia and body-side accents and 20-inch dark-chromed aluminum wheels.

Chrysler 300C eco style
Based off of the Chrysler 300C, the most-awarded vehicle in the industry, each 300C eco style edition vehicle is individually accessorized with eco-friendly materials such as cork, bamboo, recycled jute carpeting and suede seat inserts and feature refurbished wheels while providing high-end luxury and elegant design. The vehicles feature a refined interior, premium technology and offer fuel-efficient performance and excitement.

At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, the Chrysler 300C eco style vehicle will be on display and features a Vanilla exterior color with black roof, unique pewter finished exterior accents and large 20-inch wheels. On the inside, cactus-accented seat-inserts and door trim accents provide contrast, while bamboo appliqués placed on the door trim, center console and steering wheel deliver added texture and detail.

Recycled materials are used within the interior of the vehicle. Recycled ultra-suede seat inserts are used for the front and rear-passenger seats and are soft to the touch and durable. Hydrographic patterns are used to place organic themes on the center console and door trim of the interior compartment. Water-based paints are used on the exterior of the vehicle.

Under the hood is the 5.7-liter HEMI® engine with Multi-displacement System (MDS). MDS seamlessly alternates between smooth high-fuel-economy four-cylinder mode when less power is needed and V-8 mode when more power is needed. MDS optimizes fuel economy without sacrificing vehicle performance.

Chrysler PT Cruiser Couture Edition
In commemorating a decade of the Chrysler PT "Personal Transportation" Cruiser's timeless design, the new PT Cruiser Couture Edition exemplifies the romance of American automotive heritage, styling and versatility that made PT Cruiser an instant hit.

Starting with the 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser Classic, the Couture Edition features new levels of craftsmanship and color. With its fenders and high belt-line painted in Bright Silver Metallic, and upper body and roofline that recalls 1930s and 1940s era hot-rod styling in Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl with accent red pinstripe, the Chrysler PT Cruiser Couture Edition delivers a bold look. To complete the exterior appearance, chromed body-side moldings, door handles, 16-inch polished aluminum wheels and grille highlight this limited edition PT's level of detail and style.

The new Chrysler PT Cruiser Couture Edition continues to lead the small-car segment with its combination of style, craftsmanship and flexibility. Chromed detail rings highlight the gloss black instrument panel's three gauges, rotating air vents and Chrysler signature analog clock. The Pastel Slate Gray interior is highlighted by Satin Silver instrument panel and console accents, and all-new Radar Red leather seats deliver a contrasting look.

Chrysler continues to keep its icon fresh and exciting. The new Chrysler PT Cruiser Couture Edition marked the 16th variation since PT Cruiser's introduction, following five Dream Cruiser Series vehicles, PT Turbo, Flames, Woodie, Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible, the refreshed 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser, W.P. Chrysler Signature Series, PT Cruiser Classic, PT Street Cruiser Route 66, Pacific Coast Highway and Sunset Boulevard editions.

Chrysler Minivan Image Vehicle
With more than 26 years of minivan development, 65 segment-firsts, 40 available safety features and the most family-friendly features, Chrysler minivans remain the best vehicle to transport people and things.

At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, a uniquely prepared Chrysler minivan image vehicle features the minivan-first Swivel 'n Go® seating system with second-row seats that swivel 180 degrees to face the third row, while a removable chess table is installed between the two rows and can be stored in the minivan's in-floor storage bins. Completing the "family room on wheels" is the Chrysler-first dual 22-cm (9-inch) rear DVD entertainment system with swiveling third-row monitor.

Special exterior appointments include Pearl White tri-coat exterior paint and unique 19-inch chromed-aluminum wheels. Inside, a distinctive two-tone interior environment includes Dark Slate Gray instrument panel and trim that provides contrast against the Pearl White leather seats with black piping and Whitewood trim accents.

Chrysler Sebring Cabrio
The Chrysler Sebring Cabrio delivers what no other cabrio on the road can: Chrysler's sleek and elegant design, fun-to-drive performance, fuel efficiency, a spacious interior that comfortably seats four adults and enough trunk room to hold two golf bags, even when the top is folded down.

With a new smooth-appearance hood and new wheel designs, Chrysler Sebring Cabrio gets an updated appearance. Retractable top options include a body-color painted steel retractable hard top and a power cloth top featuring an automatic tonneau cover. Top up or down, Sebring Cabrio provides the benefits of a coupe and the true open-air freedom of a cabrio at an affordable price.

As many as four occupants may experience Chrysler Sebring Cabrio's comfortable, roomy interior. Rear-seat passengers have plenty of head and leg room, while best-in-class (356-liters with the top up and 193-liters with the top down) trunk space gives Sebring Cabrio year-round functionality and versatility.

The Chrysler Sebring Cabrio features two fuel-efficient engine options: a powerful 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine paired with six-speed manual transmission, and a responsive 2.7-liter 24-valve V-6 engine with six-speed Auto Stick.

Chrysler Sebring Cabrio has a rigid body structure that provides a quiet, comfortable ride and reduces cowl shake, even when the top is down. Front-wheel-drive architecture and three-box vehicle design contribute to a body that is 2.5-times stiffer in twist and 1.5-times stiffer in bending than the previous-generation Sebring Cabrio. These refinements make the latest Sebring Cabrio body structure stiffer than more expensive cabrios on the market.
