Men's Journal gave the Fiat 500 a 2011 Gear of the Year award as one of the most innovative and game-changing new products.

This was the first time Men's Journal included cars as they tested hundreds of new products for their list of 40 products that also includes sports equipment, apparel, and technology products.

Consumers Digest announced its annual automotive "Best Buys," and vehicles from Chrysler Group LLC received eight of them, more than doubling the number of "Best Buys" Chrysler Group vehicles received in 2010 and 2011.

The Chrysler's 2012 "Best Buys" are: Chrysler 300, Chrysler Town & Country, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Durango, Dodge Grand Caravan, Fiat 500, and Ram 1500.

Dodge Trio Shines in J.D. Power APEAL

A J.D. Power and Associates survey of which new cars are best loved by owners shows good news for Chrysler Group's Dodge brand, a CBS Moneywatch blog said.

The story notes that Dodge had winners in three categories up from none last year and enough to tie it with luxury stalwart BMW in the Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. The Challenger, Charger and Durango led their respective segments.

Chrysler was named the top popular brand in consulting group AutoPacific's 15th annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, which are aimed at finding the brand and vehicles that make buyers most satisfied, a USA Today blog said.
